WHAT TO EXPECT
WHAT DOES AN INTERNAL EXAMINATION ENTAIL?
If the physical therapists feels an internal or external pelvic examination is appropriate for your treatment, they will advise you at the time of your appointment. We understand that you are coming to our office with a problem so we try to make this experience as comfortable as possible. An internal exam is not a requirement, and you will have a conversation with your therapist that will go over what they think will be most beneficial for your condition. Your examination will take place in one of our five private treatment rooms. Our therapists will talk you through the whole process so you understand what we are assessing. Important aspects that we focus on include the strength, endurance and mobility of your muscles. If you have any questions regarding this visit, please give us a call and we would be happy to connect you with one of our therapists. For more questions regarding your initial visit, please call our office at 732-508-9926 or you may view our frequently asked questions on our website.
