Team / DR. CAROLINE BURNS, PT
PELVIC PHYSICAL THERAPIST

Dr. Caroline Burns PT, DPT is originally from Princeton NJ, and is a graduate of Columbia University in New York City. She had the privilege of being a student of Dr. Alison Ankiewicz while attending Columbia University, which sparked her initial interest in pelvic floor health and therapy.

Upon graduating Columbia University Dr. Burns pursued a career in orthopedic and sports physical therapy, working in clinics in New York City, Washington D.C. and then back home in New Jersey. Her experience in these clinics over 10 years has given her exceptional manual therapy and orthopedic rehabilitation skills.

The path that led her transition into pelvic floor therapy started after the births of her daughters and after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She felt that there was a lack of adequate follow-up care and clinical guidance after her surgeries and knew she could improve this experience for others. Her own medical experiences enable a deep empathy and understanding for patients who find themselves in similar seasons of life.

Her extensive background in orthopedics combined with specialized pelvic floor training gives her a deep understanding of the whole patient and the association between the pelvic floor and the rest of the body.

When she is not treating patients, Caroline enjoys spending time at home and on the beach with her children, husband and their family dog. Her other interests include running, peloton, pilates, art, travel, food, music and spending time with good friends and family.
